Greenwashing!! Who know this was a thing!!??

🧡💛💚💙💜
There are a lot of companies with cute packaging, earthy names, clear liquid in the bottles and possibly clean, white minimalist label with a big flower on it called "naturals".

You've got a few brands in your mind, don't you now? I do! Brands I trusted without researching.

Read your labels and google what you find! These products are not natural. sigh.

This is called GREENWASHING, I did not even know this was a thing. The brand pictured was one that I loved and trusted before I started to dig in and know better.

When tested, Mrs. Meyers Clean Day Liquid Dish Soap had a 204ppm (part per million) level of carcinogenic 1,4- dioxane- ten times higher than any other product. They also uses chemicals such as methylisothiazolinone, an allergen that is linked to all kinds of skin issues.

It takes less than 30 seconds for chemicals that touch your skin to enter your bloodstream. Washing dishes with toxic dish soaps is chipping away at your overall health. Serving your food on plates cleaned with this stuff, washing glasses/baby bottles, dog food bowls, etc.

So what is 1,4-dioxane?
It’s a petrochemical "known to the State of California to cause cancer". Due to its toxicity, many consumers would not expect to find it in "natural" or "organic" branded products. The contaminant 1,4-dioxane is a byproduct of the ethoxylation process, which is a cheap shortcut companies use to provide mildness to harsh cleaning ingredients.

1,4-dioxane is also a
⚠️suspected kidney toxicant
⚠️neurotoxicant
⚠️respiratory toxicant
⚠️suspected to increase miscarriage and stillbirths
⚠️AND it’s a significant groundwater contaminant.

‼️Mrs. Meyers also uses 🚩🚩FRAGRANCE 🚩🚩in their products. Not many people realize that the word "fragrance" in the ingredients list of products is an umbrella term used by companies to legally conceal the use of up to 3,000 different chemical compounds in their products.

I encourage you to be the gatekeeper to your home. Be aware of fancy/deceptive marketing and know the chemicals you're putting on your skin, your kids and in your home.

There is no amount of “ looks pretty and smells nice in a bottle” that is going to reverse the amount of damage it’s doing in the meantime 👆🏼

I'm so thankful for non-toxic cleaning for less than $1 a bottle. The entire Thieves Product Line from Young Living is a simple and much more inexpensive chemical free switch. Oh and it gets delivered right to my door🌿
